After a lifetime of not quite fitting in, I’ve learned to prioritise living in harmony with my true self and seeing this as true success. It wasn’t always this clear to me. I was your typical high achiever, who still somehow always felt behind. Smashing all my goals, yet never reaching that space of lasting happiness. I fooled myself into believing in the dream of an easy future. But it was more a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

The flow and harmony I was instinctively searching for never showed up.

This disconnect between my inner and outer reality was a huge mystery to me.

It wasn’t until I accepted that I was the problem that things changed for the better. I am a strong woman. Yet for most of my life, I used this strength to swim upstream against the flow of life, and against my own flow. I swam for far too long this way. There is a gift in giving up what isn’t right for you.

I wasn’t wise enough to know that it shouldn’t be this hard to be happy and fulfilled.

Fears trapped me. Fear of uncertainty. Fear of rejection. Fear of not being good enough.

I knew who I was, but I didn’t feel ready to listen to myself. Never wanting to stand out or be different. This kept me trapped in survival mode. Until one day it became too much, too constricting, that I decided (decided) to experience life differently.

Being in your flow, finding your groove, are gifts of the divine that are available to any one of us at any time; we  just need to choose it. I used my strength incorrectly because I bought into the hustle culture that pervades our society so much these days. ‘If it’s hard, then you’re doing something right.’

Wrong! It shouldn’t be so hard, that it feels like you’re giving up on yourself, sacrificing your health, and your desires.

The right path for me, does not exclude hard work. In fact, I’d say I probably work harder, but it doesn’t feel hard. That’s the difference. When I use my strength and power to swim downstream, I move much faster and further and with so much inner joy and connection to the world around me.

When you’re on your path you’re connected to the world, and all the pulsating, supportive energy that is the flow of life.

This took deep mindset shifts and tapping into my unique genius. I was not ready to be different for most of my life, yet every one of us has something to offer and it differs from the person next to you.

Everyone deserves a harmonious existence, it’s a gift from God. Often we fail to recognise it for what it is. When everyone is living the cookie cutter life there is a whole different path unknown to us, to following your inner blueprint. One that leads to personal success and which goes beyond riches.

It’s a feeling of being alive, of being joyful. Even in times of dire straits or adversity. It’s a way of life that means tapping into your innate strengths and accepting your weaknesses. Human destiny is shaped by this inner blueprint that is woven into the greater universal blueprint of the divine plan.

These short articles reflect my experiences but also lessons learned. In this eBook, Yes, You Belong I explore the issues I faced on my path, and issues you most likely face too, on your path of cultivating harmony within.
